A detoxifying, creamy, earthy functional latte— YES, please! Whenever I feel a little bloated or my tummy needs some taming, this is my go-to creation.  It’s packed with healthy herbs to calm a tumultuous stomach. Licorice root extract* can help relieve stomach issues and the collagen powder helps you maintain strong health. If you like licorice this one is for you. This licorice latte is also great right before bed as the combination of ingredients can help support metabolism, relax the mind, support gut health, ease bloat, and support digestion.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 teaspoon licorice powder 
  • 1 teaspoon of cacao
  • 1 teaspoon of collagen powder
  • 1 cup of oat milk
  • 1 cup of filtered boiled water 
  • 1 -2 teaspoons of maple syrup (or sweeten to taste) 

Instructions: 

  • Put one cup of filtered water in the hot water kettle or heat on the stovetop. 
  • While the water is heating up put all the dry ingredients into a cup (or bullet /blender) 1 teaspoon of licorice powder, 1 teaspoon of cocoa, and 1 teaspoon of collagen powder.
  • Pour 1 cup of oat milk into a mug or blender and 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup. 
  • Froth or blend on high the milk with the ingredients. 
  • Then pour it into your favorite 14-16 oz mug
  • Pour over 1 cup of the hot water when it has boiled. 
  • If you want the latter to be hotter, put it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds, or pour all of the ingredients into a saucepan and heat on high for about 40-60 seconds, or right before you start to see a bubble in the liquid. 

*Notes: Always consult your doctor before taking licorice extract as it can interfere with some medications.

  6. When the water has boiled pour 1 cup into the mug.
  7. Enjoy. Note: If you want your drink to be hotter, put it in the microwave for 15-25 seconds, or pour all of the ingredients into a saucepan and heat on high for about 40-60 seconds, or right before you start to see bubbles in the liquid. Pour back into your mug and sip in the bliss.
