A ritual is simply an established routine or a ceremony in which the actions and wording follow a prescribed form and order. In my new book 365 Happy Bedtime Mantras, I created a process that includes daily mantras and meditations, each day has a wind-down ritual such as breathwork, journal prompts, and other practices for relieving stress and preparing for a better night’s sleep. Here is one of my favorite bedtime mantras from the book. This mantra and ritual can help you reclaim your personal power.
Mantra: Setting boundaries is healthy for my well-being.
Having healthy boundaries is the key to healthy relationships; without them, relationships crumble. Holding in feelings leads to feeling cut off from others, and oversharing feelings leads to codependence and disappointment—not ideal! When you maintain healthy boundaries, you demonstrate self-respect, and this energetically shows others respect. Boundaries are not intended to keep people out; they are designed to invite people to know where you stand, and it is a vulnerable way to invite people in. Establish clear boundaries with your time, energy, and others to allow yourself to meet your own needs, without giving away your autonomy. A mutual respect for boundaries fosters balanced, thriving connections.
Mindfulness meditation:
I draw on my own power to activate loving awareness for my time and energy. I do this effortlessly when I have healthy boundaries and share them confidently with those I care about.
Relaxation Ritual:
Identify someone in your life with whom you need to set a clear boundary. Set an intention to do so tomorrow, even if it’s one small step at a time.
